This Is An (Undated) Early Printing In 18Th C Leather Binding Of All 8 Original Published Volumes Published Between March 1711 And December 1714. The Spectator That You See Today Is The Oldest Weekly In The World, But That Is Dating It Back To The Current Run From July 1828. The Original - And The Inspiration Behind The Reboot Of The Spectator - Was The 1711 Edition Created Joseph Addison, A Whig Politician And His Womanising Mate, Dick Steele. As To Condition: The Leather Bindings Are Rubbed, Bumped, Scuffed, Some Of The Joints Are A Little Worn (Volume I As Partially Cracked) But All Volumes Are Holding Together Well. 4 Spine Labels Are Missing While The Remainder Have A Few Chips. Volume 2 Has Its Volume Label Missing. Volume I Has A (Tea?) Stain To First Few Pages But Text Is Still Perfectly Legible. Other Volumes Have To Odd Foxing/Shadowing Mark But Generally Pages Are Clean And Bright. There Is A Date Inscribed Inside Which Is Difficult To Determine Other Than "17.." The Volumes Are Stamped "Clova House" To Front Board And Inside (No Doubt A Private House Library).
